Watch Out !

rogan timeless watch Rogan Timeless Watch

New York’s Rogan serve up an interesting and ironic accessory with their Timeless Watch. Fashioned after a classically styled watch, the ironic element is the fact that the accessory is without an actual time telling mechanism and serves only as an ornamental piece.

Fabrique

Last week, we head off to Sham Shui Po with the production team to shop for new materials, and to get an idea of what sorts of fabric and patterns would be nice for the following seasons.

Sham Shui Po is a popular place for fashion designers or interior architects who come out here on a regular basis with their duffle bag and measuring tape.

We make a day of it by walking around sourcing out new shops, and filling up our bag – as the day gets heavier we get a little hungrier. Dai Pai Dong is our stop over for a nice lunch and a recap of where the goods lie.

Mmmm

IMG_1486

We get straight back into it though, where we find some inspiration from the beef noodles and back on our shopping spree !

All the Fabric stores were blessed by this Chinese dragon, so we thought of capping off our luck and called it a day !

Carnaby Street: 1960 – 2010 | 50 Years of Music & Fashion

Today I was pleased to fall upon a popular article (for me), which immediately grabbed my attention. A new exhibition opens on Carnaby Street this month, celebrating 50 years of fashion and music on London’s famous street. Carnaby street, has been my favourite little quarters ever since my first steps in the Greater London, while i would wonder around rather aimlessly, drink coffee, chat to a few shop owners and buy the odd T Shirt. Carnaby street has, and forever will, contain some of the first steps of Uk based artists who lived and even entertained on the very tiled streets I (and many others) enjoy a casual stroll. There is a certain vibrance in the air which narrates an story of culture and fashion which transcends through modern trends, even today. If you were to take a look back in time, you would see where the initial swinging London got its name.

So trace the changes that took place transforming Carnaby from a green field with a well and a scarecrow 500 years ago, through the iconic characters associated with Carnaby’s music heritage like The Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols and Jimi Hendrix, to today’s hot designers and labels on the street. Definitely a reason to get up and go wandering this month ! Enjoi

Sewn from the Soul

This is from the street etiquette web site and store based in NYC. Very cool guys with a passion for perfection, whether it be their fine cuts or classic attire.

Charlotte Gainsbourg is France’s favorite daughter and she just recorded an album produced by none other than Beck.  She was also just announced to perform at Coachella with an impressive spot on the lineup.

Calvin Klein spends the night in prison

Ok, so it’s not exactly how it reads but I stumbled across this cool article of a photo shoot going down in this exciting and original new venue. Usually, high end fashion brands like to incorporate themselves with natural, sophisticated landscapes rather than a dilapidated jailhouse once home to convicts? However, Calvin Kleins new Global Creative Director would like to think otherwise.

Kevin Carrigan, were to present a fashion experience in Singapore on the grounds of the Queenstown Remand Prison for its Spring 2010 collection. Quite remarkable really.

New Pics from the Paris and Berlin Fashion Trip !

Here’s a look at our trip to Bread and Butter Berlin: The bustling metropolis of Berlin, the eccentric styles and flavors which seemed to ooze from the chill of a German winter. The energy was amazing! We were glad for all the moments shared with old friends, fellow designers and everyone who had the chance to come along and share this experience whether it was in Berlin or Paris ~ Thank you to all.

We were invited by our friends at Agentur V, to see the Stine Goya show during Berlin Fashion Week. This is a great venue that was buzzing with fashion lovers all supporting a local designer, so great to see.

Ski this winter with Paul Smith ?

Now I know fashion has always exsited at the higher altitudes, but I don’t know if I can trust a fashion brand when Im zig zaging down the moguls in Japan this winter. Well, not yet atleast but I’ll let you be the judge. Paul Smith has just made a pair of skis so now you can hang them up on your shoulders in style, or gift wrap them to surprise a special someone to show them just how much you care.

Hmm, I don’t think Cipher will be looking in this direction for the mean time.
