Here’s a look at our trip to Bread and Butter Berlin: The bustling metropolis of Berlin, the eccentric styles and flavors which seemed to ooze from the chill of a German winter. The energy was amazing! We were glad for all the moments shared with old friends, fellow designers and everyone who had the chance to come along and share this experience whether it was in Berlin or Paris ~ Thank you to all.

Thelodious London, came in for a surprise performance at the Diesel party ! There were some great performances that night, amongst an eclectic crowd of internationals and Berliners. We were happy to escape the cold, and jive into the evening.

We were invited by our friends at Agentur V, to see the Stine Goya show during Berlin Fashion Week. This is a great venue that was buzzing with fashion lovers all supporting a local designer, so great to see.

This wing seems to be okay. I’m glad. A great trip that, memorable experience that I’m sure we’ll share with you all again.

Photography these days allows you to use all sorts of accessories to give you an alternative effect on a image. This year I decided to leave my “Big Bertha” at home and take advantage of the new Lomography colour splash to take with me on my travels. I was a little curious as to how these new film cameras play to the effect of different lights, shades, and ISO count so I took the gamble, hoping to turn out with some playful effects. Just in case you are wondering, this is how the story went.

Haiti’s disaster has shocked the World, and it has definitely sent a thorough message to neighboring nations that this is a time of need. Funnily enough will it be the containers constructed of steel, reinforced with corrugated steel walls, who are able to withstand winds up to 140 mph to step up and make a comfortable living space for the survivors of the Haitian earthquake ? Yes, A standard shipping container.
SEED was initially conceived as a way to utilize some of the estimated 30 million shipping containers that were languishing in ports all over the world by turning them into homes for victims of hurricanes in both the Caribbean Islands and the United States. Could this be the answer to save the wounded and clear the broken homes ?

Creating a Home from SEED
The Way they describe it, the container is simply cut in a few strategic places to allow for airflow and light while it is still in the port, then transported to the site for further modifications such as ceramic paint for insulation.
Voted the most original hotel for 2009. There is a branch of hotels which run from New York, Palm Springs, down town Portland to Seattle. A well designed hotel with a variety of different art themes and nifty accessories to make your stay feel comfortable and cool. Take one look at the web site and you will feel that hotels finally understand what it is we are looking for.

I like this man and his in-fluid thoughts, which unravel through a twitch in his arm. But the man is a genius and I would definitely listen to what he has to say.

And guess what !? He just came up with his favourite 5 spots to drop by in Miami, so why not ?
1. Garcia’s Seafood in the Miami River. When you’ve had the grilled Lobster you’ll know why its one of my favorite places in Miami. Cuban style atmosphere and seafood on the River.
2. The Standard Hotel, Miami Beach. This is my favorite hotel here. Freedom, great food and the nicest people on the planet get there.
3. O.H.W.O.W gallery (3100 NW 7th avenue). This new gallery has the greatest projects happening in Miami showing a group of local and internationally known artist that is changing the way to make and look at art.
4. The Bass Museum, Miami Beach. My friend Dzine has an amazing solo show there at the moment and the museum is also hosting the Jumex collection. They always have interesting shows there. I once saw the exhibition of Cuban music legend Celia Cruz and also artists solo shows such as Yayoi Kusama.
5. The Rubell Family Collection, Miami. I love the diversity of this art collection. Their exhibition, “Beg, Borrow and Steal” is the show they have up at the Moment.
Probably the most interesting and fast moving segment of the technology sector is mobile communications. The perenial favourites; the dueling titans if you will, is Apple’s Iphone and Research in Motion’s Blackberry.
